k.d.ac.H e

K is for knits. This is the Green thing, otherwise known as the Nob Hill from this last issue of Knitty.com. It turned out ok. I loved the feel of the Twinkle Soft Chunky in my hands and it feels pretty good on the back of my neck too. By, the by you can get it at Bella Lana for less than on line. Though it's still pricey. I love the button with this it's just the best button ever.

D is for depression. I had a bit of a down turn this weekend and first few days of the week. As I told a few people when begging for help at work (help as in enough bodies to the store wouldn't have to close) "I'm at the end of the rope, the knots been tied and my nails are getting bloody with the effort of hanging on." A bit graphic i know, but meh, some time you have to push the visuals on people so they will understand.

It was a bit better today. Though sleeping has been ruff.

AC is for anger customer. Now, here is a tip to people in the world.. If you don't understand something say so. If you feel like people are going to cheat you don't deal with them in the first place (we didn't). If you are upset, take a deep breath, and don't yell at the person trying to help/ figure out what the hell is going on, it only makes them less likely to help you.

even with that, it was an ok day a work really.

H is for HOUSE! the sweet happy, scary, cool thing that has been my happy light at the end of the tunnel. HT is meeting with the inspector tomorrow to go over things and then soon (boy do i hope soon) we will have a hard closing date and i can start preparing things. Oddly enough, I like packing. There is something fun and Tetris like about it.

oh and last but not least E is for enough, its appeared a lot in this... rant, thought, blog. so I thought I would say that it's the word of the day... er night.

I haz....

A house :) The family living there excepted our offer and we'll move in sometime late in the summer. :)

I'm super excited. HT and I have already been talking about things to do.

Here are some more pictures.

This is the back yard. We are going to put up a fence. I really like the swings. :) The main bedroom is upstairs and the little kids room that is off of it, we are thinking closet. The basement is semi finished, nice enough space, doesn't smell musty at all. The main floor bathroom is nice.

And the best thing is that these people really seem to like starwars and legos. :) There are more pictures on my flicker page.

Super excited :)

house hunting and knitting

I started making the everlasting bag stopper again. Did I mention that before? I'm using hempathy this time around. Though I might use some of the left over linen from the last bag stopper. Hoping to have enough to make 2 by winter. They will be gifts.

No I'm really not that organized, I just thought this would be the best thing to knit on hot nights. Speaking of organization, I've got a few of the things for my guilty-pleasures swapie, but am still waiting on a few of them. It's tricky to find time to get out to the LYS when I only have sundays or holidays off. (I'm getting really sick of working).

HT and I looked at houses again today. We narrowed it down to 2 that we really like. Though I can see that our tastes are quiet different. I like the old school bungalow style and he likes the newer looking houses.

There was one house that had supper weird stairs that I loved, but it had a tiny back yarn, and a odd driveway. I need a medium sized back yarn if i'm going to do any growing and grilling.

Maybe next week we will have new house news to share but maybe not.

Off to knit on my mascot sock.

(oh, my ravelry tee-shirts came yesterday. :) I'll post pictures soon.)

day off knitting

I got a bit of a day off, mostly because i have a wicked cold.

So I thought I would start on my mascot socks. I wanted to see how they would knit up.

So far so good.

I'm using the Nutkin pattern from Knitzi.com

It's pretty easy to fallow.

good times

Our friend the Dutchmen came for a brief visit this weekend. It was quite good seeing him. It made me a little wistful for the old college days....

Working at the Media Center checking out equipment. Staying up till all hours of the night just B.S.ing with the guys. Drinking. Making art everyday. Living, eating, breathing the damn stuff (art that is)

But things ain't so bad now. Our friend here is a truly published artist. You can see a tid-bit of his work here.
All the spring 08 MCAD grads got a copy of that book. All we got was a soon to tarnish business card holder. :P

On knitting related news,

I got more of the stash photographed and up on ravelry. I got a few things in hand for my good karma swap buddy. I got a pattern picked out (maybe) to knit up for the warm woomies folks. I got to walk with the Lady, after stopping at Needlework, for some tea. I got some pretty colored sock yarn either for socks for me or to make into a wrap. 2 skins of 400(ish) yard sock yarn should make a good wrap right?

I also got a few things ordered for my swap buddy and for K's Jayne hat. I'm pretty sure the colors will look good. I went with more muted tones than I've seen other people use.

Right, off to read the Adventures of Johnny Bunko.

Finisher is Finished

Ta Dah!

So the Finisher is done. This is pretty much the only thing I've been working on. I've been trying to want to work on HT's sweeter vest and socks but I just don't have it in me right now. Though I'm going to try tonight.

I didn't mention the other day, but my wallet was stolen :( I've had to spend the past few days canceling cards, calling medical people.
I finally got a day off today. So I was able to head over and get a new ID. They even let me renew it and took a new picture, which was a little un-nerving.

But it's all taken care of and now all I need to do is get a new wallet. :P HT says that we should attach things to me with a long cord.

Maybe we should, but things happen right?

We are going to go look at houses again soon. I'm hoping we find something soon. I think HT is hoping that we don't find something until June... I want to know now where I'm going to be. It's one of my little problems. I'm thinking if we do find a place soon, it will take a while to close, like a month, and that our land lord will let us out of our lease. Then It wouldn't be too bad. Though, I'm really going to have to keep knitting from my Stash. At least until i get a raise. Here's hoping it's a good one.

long long week

So this is one of the reasons that this has been a very long week. That is me making a face next to my work. The silly tv I got to show it doesn't like to read the dvd, or any dvd... sigh.

But the turn out for the opening was pretty good. The party went on a little past 10pm. The food was really good too. I made lemon tarts with blueberries on top and they turned out really well.
This is HT and Rob at the opening. They stayed for quite a while.

Other things work wise have been making this a long week too. That and I think I was going through another depression down turn. But I'm feeling a bit more energized now.

I haven't even been knitting all that much.

Hum, To end this on a happy note lets talk about things that make me smile.

It was really nice out today. We went for a walk. The Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman video games are going to be coming out soon. They look super fun. We are going too look at houses today. And Flowers are blooming.
